Obama’s Stepmother Was Granted British Citizenship
Kezia Obama, stepmother to United States President Barack Obama, was granted British citizenship after living in the country for almost 10 years.
The 68-year-old Kenya-born wife, who was married to Barack Obama’s late father, Barack Obama Sr., was presented with hiscertificate of citizenship by Chris Turrell, the mayor of Bracknell, Berkshire, the Telegraph reported Tuesday.
Kezia Obama lives in a bungalow in the county and is a regular point of the town bingo hall. Kezia, who was invited to the inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009, said she likes to Bracknell, where she lives near her son-in-law and his family.
She said she has no doubt that Barack Obama will return to a second term.
